Secondary market acts as a marketplace to trade in securities, funds and financial assets post their launch in primary market.

Among various instruments that are traded in secondary market, few are mentioned as under:

Shares

It is a unit of right of ownership, equivalent to the value of share, that companies give to its shareholder. Investor cam buy & sell these shares at a stock exchange, SA, NSE & BSE. There are total of 23 stock exchanges in India out of which these two are most active.

Bonds

Bonds are basic debt securities that are traded in debt market. Companies issue bonds to raise capital in which they give a regular coupon payment to bondholders along with a fixed maturity.

Mutual Funds

Mutual funds are professionally managed funds that invest in certain stocks with a common investment goal/objective. Mutual funds market has shown a rapid growth in last few years. There are various types of mutual funds like Equity, Debt, Hybrid etc.
